HOW TO BUILD BRAND EQUITY

We're here to talk about brand.

Who you are.

Okay, the first component, the foundation is brand DNA. That's the ‘who you are’ part. And it's about sticking true to your values, understanding what you're selling, what the pillars of your brand is. What do you do all day long?

Talk about those things in consistent ways.

So the next piece is how you sound.

So that's tone of voice. What are the key messages you use? What is the vocabulary you use?

How does that tone come across? What's the vibe?

Use that dictionary, that lexicon all the time, and suddenly you'll have a voice out there on social media that is yours.

Third, that's the look. That's the logo, that's the font, that's the colours. That's all the photos, the way you treat your photos - is it black and white? Is it colour?

Be consistent.

So those are your three pillars.
